South Bay PONY is Volunteer OrganizationEvery coach for every team is a volunteer from our community. All field administration, equipment management, scheduling, mentoring, registration, accounting, and technology assistance is provided by a volunteer. Every division commissioner and every board member is a volunteer. We could not provide such an incredible baseball experience without the immeasurable generosity of hundreds of volunteers every season.
Please considering volunteering to help us make South Bay PONY exceptional.
We know you're life is hectic and busy and crazy. We know you are juggling kids and work and all the great social things that South Bay has to offer. We know you're probably juggling multiple kids playing multiple sports, with conflicting schedules and every league is asking for your time. We know, because that's us too. We promise to respect your time and use it judiciously to help improve the experience for your child and all of the children in our league.
Please considering coaching or volunteering for your team. Every team needs at least 3-4 coaches, more for the younger kids. We are also in need of help with team parents and team photographers.
We also need about 40 volunteers for the board to handle a variety of roles. Some roles require less time and some require more time. Some roles require some baseball knowledge, but most of them do not. Some roles utilize computer skills or accounting skills. But the biggest skill of all for every role is the ability to get stuff done!!
Whatever your skill set and availability, I’m sure we have a role on the board where you could help us make South Bay PONY exceptional.
Are your weekends packed with kid's activities? Or are your weeks more hectic due to work? Some of the board roles are busy on the weekends, before or after our games during the season, while other roles can be done at night from home after the kids go to bed. Some roles are primarily busy during the planning phase before the season. Other roles focus on a specific event at some time during the season.
There is no experience or expertise necessary. We will train you for any and all roles. If you have any interest at all, please reach out to any one of the board members (all names, roles, and emails are on the board of directors page). If you do not know who to contact, email [email protected].
Being a member of the South Bay PONY Board can be a lot of fun. Volunteering is incredibly rewarding. It allows us to connect with our kids, their friends, the game of baseball, and a great group of people who want to make our community better. It is an opportunity to be involved in our children's lives, teach them important life lessons, and really make the most of this precious time. You'll be making a positive impact in the lives of hundreds of South Bay kids. You will help to knit the fabric of this community. Your time will be paid back with countless smiles and incredible memories. You will be one of the reasons that our little slice of paradise is the greatest place to live in the whole world. And honestly, it takes a lot less work than you think to make a big difference.
